Narrative
When he drives his car while drunk, Mark loses his license and has to undergo an MPA. During a course he meets Helena and tries to get sober with her, but temptations are lurking everywhere.. All posts contain spoilers. After Mark’s first failed attempt to get sober, Helen said he had only managed to do so for 27 days [00:41:50]. Later [00:42:35] in Mark’s apartment, the calendar pages marked up indicated he had only managed to do so for 25 days.. As with most if not all addictions, those who are affected by it can’t see it. So no pun intended here, as always. And the movie makes that clear from the beginning. They even talk and tell our main character what he’s probably thinking. He doesn’t pay attention, at least not enough to help him or make him change anything. Lau is a great actor, he tries his hardest. The story is predictable, but you hold on, because you are mesmerized by the performances, including the other players (Tschirner to name one). Cliché and suspension of disbelief go hand in hand, or at least they should. One for… home viewing! Better to watch it sober…
