Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before. The film is also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated series Sonic at the Movies (1993). SPOILER: There’s a scene in the end credits where Sonic arrives at a New York state park and is confronted by Metal Sonic’s army of robots, only to be saved by Amy Rose. The best script, the best development of the characters, great humor, and Keanu Reeves is just a find in the role of Shadow. This film differs from the first two primarily in tone, this film is a soulful adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2, and they did it better than I could have imagined. Shadow’s past is depicted in a frighteningly beautiful way, not to mention his flawless computer model, I was so impressed with how he looked. Jim Carrey was a comedian, as usual, it’s a real pleasure to have in our franchise, he was unbelievably hilariously awesome as both Ivo and Gerald. Ben Schwartz, Collin and Idris – they all shined like never before. As a big fan of Sonic, this movie exceeded my expectations, what a feeling to be a fan of Sonic! Definitely one of the best parts of Sonic history. 9/10.
